The house is in Kaning, which is part of the region of Radenthein in sunny Carinthia, the most southern state of Austria. Kaning is a small village with 650 inhabitants.
The house is 300 years old and has a long and impressive history: in bygone days it was once a school, a hotel and a tollbooth. And now we have developed it into two apartments each with accomodation for six people.
The house is next to a centuries-old church, and next to it there is a supermarket where you can buy fresh bread (Mon-Sat) and a village square where village festivities take place. There is a restaurant and bar on the square where you can enjoy a very reasonably-priced meal, as well as the option for a take-away service.
There are more shops in Radenthein which is about 5 km from Kaning.
